One of my favorite Korean food traditions is eating miyeokguk on my birthday. Miyeok in Korean means seaweed and guk means soup, put together to mean seaweed soup. Seaweed soup is traditionally eaten by new mothers and also by people on their birthdays. This soup is healthy, delicious, and super easy to make!
My mother’s miyeokguk is one of my favorite foods of all time, so naturally I had to learn her recipe and make it for myself! Serve up your piping hot miyeokguk with a hot bowl of rice, kimchi and other side dishes for a full meal.
